The City of Humboldt celebrates Mr. Willie Reed for the unveiling of his Street name change to Retired Avenue effective Friday, January 16th, 2026 @ 4 p.m.!  We thank him for his immeasurable contributions to the City of Humboldt as our Street Superintendent/Cemetery Supervisor for 36 years!  We Love You Willie!

Also, the Mayor's Office will be closed on the morning of July 23, 2025 for a Mandatory Tax Relief Training.  The office will re-open at 2 p.m.

Today is the final day to pay your city property taxes to avoid a penalty. You can pay them in person at the Mayor's Office at 1201 Main Street until 4:30pm.

The City of Humboldt Public Works Department will begin leaf collection on December 2, 2024. The collection of leaves does not follow the trash collection schedule. If you have bagged leaves now, please place them at the curb (not in the street) and someone will pick them up. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Mayor's Office at 731-784-2511.

TAX SEASON HAS ARRIVED!!! Property Tax Notices have been mailed from Nashville.  We are awaiting the file to download our taxes into our system.  We hope by the first of next week they will be available. 

City of Humboldt TAX RELIEF NOTICES have been mailed out. Please be on the lookout for the "LIME GREEN" colored forms to hit your mailbox.

Festival Permits
Requirements: 
1. A copy of your State of TN Business License, 
2. Written permission statement from the property owner stating they give you permission to setup (list property address) from 05/05/24 thru 05/12/24 & signature is required! 
3. obtain permit from Mayor's Office (1201 Main St.) for $20.
*If you have an Out-Of-State Business License, you are required to obtain a Transient License in the amount of $50 and the permission statement and the $20 Festival Permit.

Property Tax Payment Notice: Avoid the rush. Contact City Clerk Marquita Patterson at 731-784-2511 (option #1) to pay your property taxes by phone. Come in early each day and avoid longer afternoon wait times. The deadline is February 29, 2024.

October 5, 2023 - The 2023 Tax Notice information is now available. Also, tax relief forms will be mailed out on October 6, 2023. This year the color for the city is pink. You can call 731-784-2511 and dial #1 from the automated phone system for tax information. 

September 14, 2023 - Phone Lines Down (updated)
The Humboldt Mayor's Office phone lines are down this morning. We are working with our provider to resolve the issue. Please be patient as we work to get this issue resolved. (8:45am). Phone service has now been restored. (10:00am)
The Humboldt Mayor's Office will have a Lemonade Stand in the lobby from 12:00pm - 2:00pm on Friday, July 14, 2023. The lemonade is free however donations will be accepted for the Isaiah 117 House. The organization provides a comforting home for children who have been removed out of their homes due to the concern of their welfare while awaiting placement with a foster family. You can now purchase your 2023 Humboldt City Stickers at the Humboldt Police Department. The renewal deadline is March 31st. See the flyer on this page.

The regular Tuesday route has not been completed due to truck issues. Today's route will be completed on Wednesday morning then the truck will do it's regular route.

Leaf Pickup - October 16, 2022
The City of Humboldt will begin picking up leaves with the Leaf Collection Machine on November 28, 2022 and will continue through February 28, 2022. Any leaves that are picked up prior to November 28th must be bagged.
